Health & safety

Safety, Health and Environment Tarmac Topfloor's approach to Safety and Health management is founded on three principles;

1 - Culture: Zero Mindset,

2 - Learning: No Repeats, and

3 - Standards: Simple None-Negotiable Standard and Rules.

We insist on absolute adherence to standards at all times and an intolerance of unsafe acts or conditions. The following outlines our key initiatives:

Plant & Equipment


All comply with the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) 1998 which determines testing / inspection frequency. All plant and equipment is kept in good condition by regular maintenance and inspections.

Method Statements


Site-specific method statements are provided prior to every fixing visit. A Site Supervisor will visit your site and complete this report from a generic method statement.

Environmental


Accredited with BS EN ISO 14001:1996 and operate to Tarmac's EMS system. Please contact us if you would like to see a copy of our current policy statement.

Safety Auditing

We follow a board approved programme of safety auditing, which is carried out by the following:- Safety Co-oridnator, Contract Supervisors, Managers, Directors & Managing Director (each targeted with safety observation audits of 8 hours per month).

Golden Rules

Anglo American and Tarmac have developed golden rules for those tasks or activities that result in the vast majority of fatal and serious injuries. The Golden rules are strictly enforced by all to ensure the safety of our employees and contractors, and to safeguard the community.
