Topcrete Paint Quality

Topcrete Paint Quality blocks

Topcrete Paint Quality blocks have a close texture surface ideally suited for walls that are to receive direct decoration. They are robust and durable making them suitable for use in commercial, industrial, leisure and school buildings. They can also provide high levels of fire resistance, sound insulation, and air tightness.

Colour and texture of blocks vary according to which factory produces them, so please ask to inspect samples.

Topcrete Paint Quality applications

- Inner leaves of cavity walls

- Separating walls including firebreak walls

- Internal partitions

Topcrete Paint Quality specification

- Mean compressive strength:

  • Solid 7.3 and 10.4N/mm²
  • Cellular or hollow 3.6 and 7.3N/mm²

- Gross dry density: 1800-1900kg/m³

- Thermal conductivity (at 3% moisture content): 1.18W/mK

- Reaction to fire: Class A1

- Typical airtightness:

  • 100mm solid blocks - emulsion paint finish 0.13 - 1.16 m³ / (h.m²) @ 50 pa
  • 140mm solid blocks - emulsion paint finish 0.36 m³ / (h.m²) @ 50 pa

Topcrete is manufactured to comply with EN 771-3, tolerance category D1, and conforms to Category 1 manufacturing control as specified in BS 5628-1.

Topcrete Paint Quality working dimensions

Face dimensions are 440mm long x (various widths) x 215mm high. Topcrete Midi blocks are 290mm long x 140mm width x 215mm high.

Topcrete Paint Quality sizes and weights

Unit and laid weights are approximate and calculated based on the specified dry density with 3% moisture content by volume added to provide equilibrium weights.

* Manufactured to order. sizes may be available subject to minimum order quantities.

ˆ An alternative way to construct 190-215mm walls is to use two leaves of 90 / 100mm Topcrete blocks laid back to back and suitably tied. Design guidance is given in BS 5628-1 or contact Topblock Technical Services for advice.
