Hemelite Foundation

Hemelite Foundation blocks

Hemelite Foundation blocks are produced specifically for use below DPC in solid walls. They can be used to support cavity, solid or frame construction.

Hemelite Foundation benefits

- Save time and money

No wall ties or concrete cavity fill, speedy construction, no risk of collapsed cavities.

- Strong enough

Strengths of 7.3N/mm² can satisfy low and high rise building requirements.

- Safe handling

Meets manual handling guidelines for the repetitive lifting of masonry units. End grooves in block aid handling.

Hemelite Foundation specification

- Mean compressive strength: 7.3N/mm²
- Thermal conductivity: 0.51W/mK (at 3% moisture content)
- Gross dry density: 1400kg/m³
- Unit weight: 15.5kg

- Laid weight 290/300mm wall - 420/434kg/m²

- Laid weight 255mm wall - 380kg/m²

Hemelite Foundation is manufactured to comply with EN 771-3, tolerance category D1, and conforms to Category 1 manufacturing control as specified in BS 5628-1.

Unit and laid weights are approximate and calculated based on the specified dry density with 3% moisture content by volume added to provide equilibrium weights.

Hemelite Foundation working dimensions

Block size: 255mm long x 290mm x 140mm high or 255mm long x 300mm x 140mm high

Hemelite Foundation environmental performance
