TermoDeck office building Dubai

Our history

The TermoDeck system was developed in the 1970s by two Swedish engineers, Mr Loa Andersson and Mr E Isfalt. They were, in part, inspired by very early building practices used in the Middle East, North America and the Roman Empire.

These ancient techniques, including the Roman hypocaust system, tended to apply basic physics with the aim of providing comfortable buildings in uncomfortable climates.

Since the 1970s, over 400 buildings worldwide have been constructed using the TermoDeck system. TermoDeck buildings have been shown to be highly effective in a wide variety of climates as diverse as Sweden and Saudi Arabia. In the UK buildings include:

- Elizabeth Fry building, University of East Anglia
- Brighton and Hove Library
- Selly Oak Campus, University of Birmingham
- Waterways Museum, Banbury
- Post Office HQ and Call Centre, Chesterfield

Other impressive buildings around the world include:

- Infra City, Offices and Hotel, Stockholm, Sweden
- Gulf Centre, Offices and Shopping Centre, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
