TermoDeck Thermal Mass benefits
TermoDeck uses the high thermal mass of concrete hollowcore flooring in three innovative ways:
1. Thermal storage
Heat or cool is stored within the buildings thermal mass.
The internal temperatures remain stable, this is known as thermal lag.
No need to rapidly heat or cool internal spaces.
2. Radiant effect
The thermal mass of the hollowcore is exposed as it forms the ceiling soffit of occupied spaces.
Up to 70% of the heating or cooling of rooms is through the radiant effect.
Directly warms or cools occupants rather than the air around them.
3. Fresh air ventilating
The surface of the inner core of the hollowcore conditions the air passing through it.
This enables temperature treated 100% natural fresh air with minimal additional heating or cooling.
