Bournemouth velodrome

The specialist surfacing team from Tarmac National Contracting has unrivalled expertise in compacting asphalt on steep cycling tracks across the UK.

Funded by British Cycling and Bournemouth Council, Tarmac delivered the £180,000 project at Bournemouth Cycling Centre in partnership with Raymond Brown, a Hampshire-based contractor.

Drawing on proven experience at developing smooth surfacing materials to meet client needs, having resurfaced the Mira test track in 1996, the new velodrome is the first of its type to be built in the UK since 1962. We supplied Tarmac Mastertrack – a high-performing, durable asphalt developed by Tarmac for specialist sport and leisure applications. The venue will not only serve as a cycle track but also showcase in-line skating and running events.
