Working with communities
We are committed to working positively with local communities and we build long-standing relationships that benefit both Tarmac and the people living around our sites.
It’s important that we communicate our plans clearly and honestly, detailing potential local impacts (both positive and negative), providing people with opportunities to raise concerns, and responding in a timely and appropriate manner.
We also support local projects and initiatives that make a difference in our neighbouring communities.
In 2011, Community Engagement Programmes were in place at 100% of all significant sites. We are now implementing community engagement plans at all of our operational locations. We aim to complete this process by the end of the year and will report back on our performance in our 2012 report.
