Waterproof concrete TopProof
Tarmac’s waterproof concrete
What makes the concrete waterproof?
TopProof waterproof concrete contains two specially formulated admixtures. The first reduces the water/cement ratio, increasing the density of the mix and minimising the size of the pores. The second fills the remaining pores ensuring a completely watertight finish. This means there is no need for external membranes, reducing cost and labour.
TopProof waterproof concrete benefits
- No need for external membranes, reducing cost and labour
- Water resistant, quality-assured waterproof concrete
- Less susceptible to cracking
- No minimum order size
- 100% recyclable
- TopProof complies with BS 8102:2009 Type B construction.
This standard promotes best practice in designing waterproof structures.
TopProof waterproof concrete applications
- Basements
- Underground car parks
- Electrical and other plant rooms
- Swimming pools
- Aquariums and aquatic centres
- Waterside buildings
- Retail storage
- Lift pits
What the difference between TopProof waterproof concrete and conventional concrete?
Ordinary concrete contains fine pores which allow moisture to penetrate the surface and pass through. The size and volume of these pores is dictated by the water/cement ratio; the higher the ratio, the more porous the concrete. TopProof's pores are filled to create high density ensuring a watertight concrete.
What's unique about TopProof waterproof concrete?
Tarmac TopProof waterproof concrete is better for the environment compared to conventional methods of waterproofing. This is because many membranes contain oil-based chemicals and synthetic materials.
