Jackson Civil Engineering constructed a new pedestrian subway linking the new railway station to the Lakeside Shopping Centre.

The 23 tonne culverts were constructed with a 400mm wall thickness, with internal chamfers limited to 100mm. 4 No holes were incorporated in the length of each unit for MaCalloy Bars to be inserted on site for post tensioning after units were installed.

The work was carried out during a 52-hour possession granted by Railtrack.

To ensure the installation could be achieved in the time allotted a trial erection was conducted at our Henlade Factory.
