The Group has a responsibility for the impact of all its operations on local communities and the natural environment, preventing pollution and striving for continual improvement in its environmental performance whilst working towards a sustainable future.
Correct environmental management of our activities is of paramount importance to our business and our reputation and will be equally important to the local residents and stakeholders directly affected by our activities.
An awareness of the potential impact of the activities over which we have direct control, the company has established strict operating policies for working to environmental standards, reflected in our accreditation to BS EN 14001:1996 for all of our contracting operations.
Tarmac’s environmental policies and procedures are under constant review, ensuring that the company is always a 'good neighbour', as well as conforming to the increasing national and international legislation for the protection of the environment.
All employees receive environmental training, and the high priority given to environmental issues by the company places a responsibility on all employees to be aware of the effect on the environment of their actions at all times.
