Addressing the Chromium VI directive

Chromium VI can cause dermatitis, a new European Directive requires that the Chromium VI content of cement based preparations can't exceed two parts per million.

To protect against dermatitis, a shelf life is imposed on cement and fresh cement based products. Rapid turnover becomes crucial and our ready-to-use mortars are an ideal way to address this. Available in a number of different delivery method's, they're also practical enough to meet the needs of your site.

 

Lime - the essential ingredient

We're the only company to add lime to every single mortar we produce. From cutting costs to improving build quality, adding lime results in a whole host of proven benefits.

Cutting costs is an obvious benefit, but lime-based mortars also improve quality. They are kinder to bricks, making them more durable, water and weather tight and crack resistant.

BSI Kitemark registration

All of Tarmac's mortar and screed products carry the British Standard Kitemark.

Certification was granted following a programme of plant and lab visits by BSI auditors to assess the mortar business' capability of producing, monitoring and supplying mortar and screed products to their relevant standards.

Tarmac has demonstrated their credentials as market leaders by becoming the first mortar and screed producers to be awarded the Kitemark.
