Addressing the Chromium VI directive
Chromium VI is a soluble form of Chromium found in cement and cement based products. As it can cause dermatitis, a new European Directive requires that the Chromium VI content of cement based preparations cannot exceed two parts per million.
The new legislation means finding practical, innovative solutions to its demands. It also involves taking careful health and safety precautions to protect employees.
When mixing and delivering your concrete, our workforce wear protective clothing including eye shields and they're well trained in what to do should a cement-based product come into direct contact with their skin. We also hope that our customers encourage their concrete-laying teams to take similar protective measures.
