Health and Safety

The safety of our people, contractors and the public is our number one priority. We never rest in our work to improve health and safety across all areas of the business, adopting a targeted approach to help us achieve our stringent goals.

We make sure everyone in the business is fit to be there, with full health checks every three years. We've also put in place a zero-tolerance policy that ensures no one works, or allows anyone else to work, in an unsafe situation.

In fact, we want to cut all work-related injuries, aiming to halve the number of incidents each year until we do. And, by 2010, we hope to eliminate conditions like noise-induced hearing loss, hand/arm vibration syndrome, and occupational dermatitis and lung disease.
