TarmacDry porous asphalt system for Morrisons

The original specification for the stores car park was to use permeable block paviors but due to time constraints and the need to reduce construction time on-site the main contractor approached Tarmac National Contracting to explore if using TarmacDry could bring their build schedule back on track. The complexity of the project and the clients desire to reduce programme time placed additional pressures on the project team. The car park was prepared, laid and completed in 17 days bringing the store opening back on track.

TarmacDry at B&Q Portsmouth car park

The 20,000m2 retail car park was built by Tarmac using our TarmacDry system. The car park was constructed on a flat site a few metres above sea level. The designer did not want to use blocks due to the large area involved and was also restricted in the volume of water run-off they were allowed to introduce into the existing storm drainage. TarmacDry porous asphalt system provided the solution.
