Tarmac Topforce is a ready mix concrete aimed at replacing the need for crack-control steel wire fabric mesh, and steel fibres in concrete floor constructions. It quite simply sets concrete free, liberating the contractor from the constraints and logistical problems associated with steel reinforcing mesh.

With no need to fix steel mesh, Tarmac Topforce enables a faster build technique, meaning contractors are able to hand over sites quicker, saving on time and labour charges. Site safety is also improved: there are no heavy steel deliveries to site, no crane or manual handling is required and the trip hazards associated with steel mesh are eliminated.

This powerful blend delivers crack resistance, a faster build, improved site safety and the lowest embodied CO2 on any job compared to reinforcing mesh.

Health and Safety benefits

Its relatively smooth surface means the risk of laceration or puncture to workers on site is greatly reduced. In addition, the removal of the need for steel mesh means there are no stock piles on site as a potential trip hazard. With a reduced number of steel mesh deliveries site traffic hazards are also reduced. Similarly, the risk posed by cranes will also be reduced as they will not be required to move the steel mesh.

The benefits

  • No rusting steel mesh
  • No need for stock piles of steel mesh on-site, saving on storage costs.
  • No delivery waiting and costs
  • No cranes required to move steel fabric from place to place.
  • Health and safety benefits; removse trip hazards, manual handling risks, cuts from sharp edges and off-cuts when handling steel fabric.
  • NHBC acceptance
  • Reduces your CO2 figures, lower your carbon footprint
  • Cost-effective, long-lasting and time-saving
  • Longer life and reduced whole life costs
  • Resistance to impact and abrasion
  • Flexural strength, density and crack control
  • Resistance to freeze-thawing
  • Durability
  • Resistance to severe fire and explosions
