Fastpath for footpaths in Lincoln
Goldsmith Walk, Lincoln in 2008. Following a demonstration to Lincolnshire County Council of its key benefits, including speed of installation and minimising disruption to local residents, Fastpath was trialled for the reconstruction of Goldsmith Walk in a residential area of Lincoln.
Being a narrow residential road with very limited off road parking the reconstruction of this footpath by traditional methods had the potential to be highly disruptive over a significant period of time and potentially dangerous. Laid in a single layer, the reconstruction using Fastpath required just one visit by the installation team, was quicker to lay and helped keep disruption to a minimum.
After more than three years of use the Fastpath surface is performing very well with no sign of deformation from the continuous stresses of pavement parking or fretting from manoeuvring.
