Tarmac awarded construction management framework contracts

Tarmac has secured four contracts as part of the prestigious 'Construction Management Framework' to deliver surfacing, traffic management and safety barrier works as a specialist contractor for the Highways Agency across the Midlands and the North West.

Tarmac's National Contracting division will provide a range of services including surfacing and safety barrier works in both Areas 9 and 10 and traffic management in Area 10. The contract will result in Tarmac working closely together with other specialist contractors and the appointed Managing Agent Contractors, Amey (Area 9) and A-One+ (Area 10) on schemes worth over £500, 000.

Tarmac's commitment to quality, safety, delivery, and continuous improvement were crucial factors in being awarded the contract which was assessed based on a '60 per cent quality, 40 per cent price' ratio.

Paul Fleetham, Executive Director of Tarmac National Contracting said: "The structure of the Construction Management Framework enables us to deliver our core specialist skills to the Highways Agency. Being assessed for this contract on a quality / price split recognises that we can deliver best value and that the Highways Agency's is confident in our ability to delivery quality work, within budget."

The Construction Management Framework is designed to encourage innovation and greater efficiency in delivering highways schemes.
