Why TarmacI started here in 1997 and what first attracted me to Tarmac was that it was a local company and widely recognised as a good employer. I find it a friendly place to work and feel that the region has been a success due to team work by the employees and great leadership by our regional director. A bit about your roleI work as part of the business administration team as a receptionist at our Stancombe office. I answer calls, meet and greet people, whether they are internal or external visitors, and make them all aware of the health and safety rules within our business. I enjoy my job as I meet people from all levels of the business. An important part of my role on the front desk is to be able to engage and welcome everybody. I strive to portray professionalism and to make people feel at ease when dealing with their requirements. Qualifications/Experience that has helped youI have completed an NVQ in business administration, supported by Tarmac. Here, I was shadowed in my job and marked in the different areas accordingly. I have also completed training for our new switchboard system. What I love most about my job is everyday can be so different. Its amazing to see how much has changed here since I first started when there were only a few offices. Ive enjoyed watching the business expand and take shape over the years. I am enjoying my role with Tarmac which fits in great with my lifestyle and I look forward to the different challenges that each day brings. |
