Contracting’s capabilities

Building relationships to deliver

Our skills base and comprehensive experience combined with an excellent existing relationship with the client, was key to securing the contract to strengthen and resurface the main runway at Newcastle International Airport Limited. Over 17,000 tonnes of asphalt was laid and the project was completed five weeks ahead of schedule.

In addition, our experience has also been key to a 30 year partnership with the Forth Estuary Transport Authority in maintaining the Forth Road Bridge. With our unique knowledge and experience of this structure we have tailored our approach to ensure its longevity.

Award-winning projects

The confidence of major customers in our skills, capability and reliability has been demonstrated recently by our South East team successfully winning the contract to provide the surfacing element to widening schemes on the M25.

On the recently completed M1 J6a-10 widening project over 500,000 tonnes of bituminous materials were laid with no remedial works required throughout the three year scheme.

Working with local authorities

Across the UK, we have been successful in securing long term maintenance contracts with many local authorities.

These strategic and bespoke public/private partnerships are delivering real benefits to both the authorities and the local communities they serve. By integrating our teams directly with the local authorities we are able to offer key experience and expertise to the on-going planning and scheduling of highways maintenance activities. This ensures the effective evolution of the service to best achieve joint aims and objectives.

Our established framework agreements with Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire County council's involve the delivery of essential front line maintenance services ranging from traditional carriageway surfacing and minor civil engineering works to grass cutting and landscaping.

In addition, we operate a full highway maintenance contract with Walsall Borough Council which commenced in 2009 and includes winter maintenance works, emergency response, gully emptying and the responsibility for noticing in accordance with the Traffic Management Act.

Highly qualified teams providing a range of services

Our highly qualified and trained teams are focused on quality and the specific needs of our customers and are dedicated to providing flexible and innovative solutions for all contracts, large or small. As a result, the construction of a small car park will receive the same professional service as any of our major highway contracts.

Innovative products

Our approach to innovative products and flexible working is clearly demonstrated by our TarmacDry porous paving system. Installed exclusively by our specialist teams across the UK, the TarmacDry SuDS system captures rain and surface water and enables either storage for reuse, release into the subgrade or controlled release into the existing drainage systems.
