Commitment to society
As part of a large organisation, we believe that we have an important contribution to make, both to society as a whole and to the individual communities in which we work.
Supporting the UK industry
More than 95% of the raw materials used
in production are from the UK, therefore
supporting the British economy.
Education and skills support
We have played an important role in the
development of students, specifiers and
construction workers. This includes:
- Our training facility specifically for thin
joint blockwork.
- Building relationships with colleges, which form part of the Centre of Vocational Excellence network.
- Dedicated seminars for professional
groups, local authorities and builders’
merchants on topical subjects.
- Presentations to smaller groups such as
users or specifiers of our products. We
also have a RIBA-approved CPD seminar
covering thin joint blockwork.
- The continuous development of online RIBA approved CPD seminars to allow easy access to all types of architectual practices.
Noise reduction
One of the largest concerns has been the
noise from on-site mobile equipment.
This has been addressed through the
installation of white-noise reversing
alarms on all on-site mobile equipment
and through control of the times of, and
routes of, vehicle movements into and out
of our production factories during
unsociable hours.
