5th Feb - Tarmac film to be showcased at LGA urban conference & exhibition
Tarmac will feature over the next couple of days as the only minerals operator to showcase its sustainability credentials via a short film at the Local Government Association's 'Thriving Economies, Cohesive Communities' urban conference in Newcastle, on 5th & 6th February.
The conference is expected to attract around 200 councillors, chief executives and senior officers of local authorities, together with representatives from partner organisations and the business community. It will give those responsible for promoting the economic, social and environmental well being of our towns, cities and suburbs an opportunity to debate the issues facing urban areas. The particular focus will be the role of councils in promoting thriving local economies and cohesive communities.
Tarmac has produced a five and a half minute film, positioning itself as a partner to facilitate urban regeneration and revitalising communities via the key themes of a best value approach, sustainability and as a one-stop-shop to meet the needs of all local authorities in a partnership that suits them.
The film introduces the organisation by focussing on the importance of roads and accompanying infrastructure in promoting thriving economies and the involvement Tarmac has in maintaining them.
The film showcases our involvement with Nottinghamshire County Council, through our 10-year framework agreement and our joint venture partnership with West Lothian County Council. Interviewees include Paul Fleetham (Tarmac), Ross Marshall (Nottinghamshire CC), Alan Sheppard (Tarmac) and David Pringle (West Lothian CC).
LGAtv will feature Tarmac's film in the main conference auditorium, on key delegate hotel screens and also on plasma screens at the conference venue.
Furthermore, the film will also be aired on The Local Government Channel Sky 181 for a week following the event. To view the film please go to the following link: (Tom to put on corporate website)
