30th October 2006 - TARMAC TECHNOLOGY MAKES FAST MOVES AT DARTFORD JUDO CLUB
A brand new four-bedroom accommodation facility has been built in rapid time at the Olympic standard Dartford Judo Club using Tarmac Topblock's fast track Durox System with thin joint technology. The Durox System combines Tarmac's special aircrete blocks with accessories such as specialist thin joint mortar, external insulated render and ancillary products from Thin Joint Technology Ltd to provide a state-of-the-art rapid construction solution.
This system enabled the frame of the building to be erected within a one-week period including all blockwork and external wall insulation.
Dartford Judo Club is a National Centre of Excellence and the first purpose-built training centre to meet Olympic training standards since London was chosen to host the 2012 Olympic Games. Como Construction, a division of project management company MACE and an official Olympic Delivery Partner, recommended the Durox thin joint building method for the Dartford development.
