1 May 2006 - TARMAC & SKIPTON GC HAVING A SWINGING TIME

Tarmac is proud to announce it has become the main corporate sponsor for Skipton Golf Club for a period of three years. The official launch will take place today (12 May) at 1pm, and will be commemorated by a plaque on the first tee.

PThe sponsorship from Tarmac is being used to improve the golf course and the clubhouse facilities. Skipton Golf Club provides an excellent sporting and social amenity in the Skipton area and these facilities will be enjoyed not only by members, but also by the wider community who use the clubhouse on a regular basis

Skipton GC is a keen advocate of promoting golf to the younger generation in the local area. The club professional, Peter Robinson runs a junior academy for over 100 local children aged between 5 and 13 years old, with Peter and the Skipton GC team spending time going out to schools in the local area, promoting golf and getting kids interested in the game. The money provided by Tarmac will ensure that these worthwhile activities continue.

Over the 3-year period, Tarmac hopes to run future fundraising activities for the local community including, charity golf days and raffles for rounds of golf.
