Tarmac's 'blueprint' for affordable, low-carbon masonry homes

Tarmac Limited is set to build two concept masonry homes at the University of Nottingham. The aim is that the homes will provide Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) and other organisations working within the public and private housing markets, with a blueprint to deliver low–carbon, low-cost housing which could be built across the UK.

Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, rose to the challenge to resurface a road in just 24 hours with just a little help from Tarmac National Contracting, in a show to be screened this Sunday (28 January) on BBC Two.

When a bespoke blend of high performance grout was needed for round-the-clock works as part of the 2.9 billion pounds Dounreay nuclear decommissioning programme, cementitious blending expert Tarmac CMS Pozament was called upon to deliver a specialised product.
15th January 2007 - TARMAC GROUT HELPS AVERT WATER CRISIS
It was a race against time for Thames Water Engineering when a major water tunnel burst, reducing Thames Water's ability to pump raw water into storage in the Queen Mother reservoir and potentially jeopardising London's domestic water supply. The emergency team working to repair the tunnel called in industry experts Tarmac CMS Pozament to supply 330 tonnes of their specialist SP/E2 Expansive Grout to help repair the breach.

Tarmac's Cheviot Quarry, near Milfield village in Northumberland has achieved success at the British Archaeology Awards held in Birmingham.
1st January 2007 - NEW SCHOOLS ON THE BLOCK
The construction of six new educational facilities in Derbyshire is set to bring state-of-the-art learning resources to pupils in the area. Built by construction firm Norwest Holst with multicore blocks from Tarmac Topblock, the shells of all six sites were completed in April 2006, with the buildings set to open to hundreds of new pupils in September 2007.
