Tarmac builds relationship with RSPB as a Corporate Benefactor
Tarmac is continuing its long term support of the RPSB and highlighting its commitment to promoting biodiversity by becoming an official Corporate Benefactor to the charity. As such, Tarmac is the first quarrying company to hold Corporate Benefactor status.
This Benefactor status demonstrates Tarmac's strong relationship with the RSPB and follows on from the compan's success in implementing Biodiversity Action Plans at all its active quarries in the UK - the first UK quarrying company to achieve this. Joining forces with the RSPB marks a progressive step for Tarmac in their involvement in creating habitats and encouraging bird species
As Neil Beards, Tarmac's estates manager for the Midlands says: "We are delighted to become Corporate Benefactors of the RSPB. Tarmac is working with them on a number of projects across the UK, but we're particularly proud of the work we're doing at Langford Lowfields in Nottinghamshire. At Langford, we are progressively restoring land with the aim of creating a large reedbed habitat. We hope that the work at Langford will enable us to reintroduce the Bittern back to the area".
