Nigle Dyer - maintenance director at National Contracting

New appointment maintains road to success

Tarmac National Contracting has appointed a new maintenance director to manage contracts and contribute to the growth of its Highway Term Maintenance business.

Nigel Dyer will take a leading role in supporting the business and its strategic development. This will involve developing closer working relationships with existing clients including many Local Authorities and private clients, as well as subcontractors. He will ensure contracts are managed efficiently and will also share best practice with clients and colleagues during the delivery of each programme.

Nigel previously worked for Alfred McAlpine Government Services and, following its acquisition, Carillion Highways Maintenance for eight years. Prior to this, he worked in various local authorities in both client and contracting roles.

Paul Fleetham, Tarmac's National Contracting director, said: "We're delighted to have Nigel as part of our team. Despite the current economic conditions, Tarmac National Contracting has set a course to build on its market leading position, fostering closer working partnerships with our customers and increasing our focus on sustainability. Nigel's appointment is critical to consolidate our current position and provide the opportunity to drive the National Contracting business forward. Nigel has extensive experience in highways maintenance but in particular, he knows what it takes to provide efficient, value-added services that meet our clients' requirements."
