Tarmac Toproc now BBA accredited
EXCLUSIVE: Tarmac has just gained certification from the British Board of Agrément (BBA) for its Toproc range of high performance concretes.
The extremely rigorous process took four years of testing and re-testing to meet the BBA's exacting standards. Teams from Product Development and Special Products as well as external specialists were involved in the drive to achieve this unique endorsement for the Toproc range.
"This is no small achievement. Tarmac is now the only ready-mixed concrete supplier in the UK to hold such an accreditation," explained Howard Robinson, head of product development.
"The process has enabled us to enhance and develop our concretes - giving us a much greater understanding of the product than we had before."
Fellow team member David Parkinson, special products manager - Northern, is equally delighted: "This is quite a feat for the company. BBA status is a unique selling point in the concrete marketplace and independent accreditation further demonstrates Toproc's credibility as a super-strength, high performance product."
BBA accreditation is an all-important comfort factor for both public and private buyers. It's hoped the accreditation will unlock new opportunities for the Toproc range.
Clare Lloyd, marketing product manager, added: "We want everyone in the company to know about this and to promote it to their customers. BBA accreditation means that customers can see that Tarmac offers high quality, cutting edge concretes."
