8th September 2006 - Tarmac to reconsider sand and gravel proposals

Tarmac is to withdraw its planning application to create a new sand and gravel quarry at Bulcote Farm, Gunthorpe, Nottinghamshire.

After submitting the original planning application, Tarmac has given close consideration to objections raised by the Environment Agency about the flood risk in the surrounding area. However, some issues remain to be addressed and Tarmac has decided to withdraw its application and will reassess the proposals.

A spokesperson for Tarmac said:

"We have decided to withdraw the original planning application for the time being, so we can take stock and fully review the proposed development with a view to resubmitting the application in the future."
