BRISTOL TO BENEFIT FROM NEW RECYCLING VENTURE
Two major players in the recycled aggregates arena are to join forces and create a new company to service Bristol's recycled material needs for the future.
Tarmac, the UK's leading supplier of heavy building materials, and Churngold Transport and Recycling ltd, the Region's largest bulk earthworks contractor and market leader in the production of recycled aggregates in the South West, have come together to form TCRA Limited - Tarmac Churngold Recycled Aggregates - a joint venture company that will provide a 'one stop shop' for recycled aggregate requirements.
Operating from a 10-acre site in Filton from March 1st, TCRA will be the largest facility of its kind in the Bristol area, providing sustainable materials for today's modern building needs coupled with high quality service and experience.
Martin Riley, area director for Tarmac South West, said: "This is an exciting partnership bringing together a wealth of experience and expertise, which can only be good news for our existing and new customers.
"Major developments planned for the region have resulted in increased demand for sustainable building materials and TCRA is ideally placed to service that need with great road and rail links."
John Barcham, Managing Director for Churngold Transport and Recycling ltd, added: "Customers can be assured that the high standard of service they've come to expect from both Churngold and Tarmac will continue.
"TCRA will offer a 'one stop recycling shop', accepting and processing inert waste to supply quality assured recycled materials back into the local market. This joint venture will seek to utilise the Tarmac and Churngold resources to best advantage, which can only improve on our already high levels of customer service."
TCRA has the capability of processing up to 250,000 tonnes of inert waste a year and can draw from a combined fleet of over 100 vehicles ensuring continuity of supply to meet the demands of any project, from major construction contracts to small building projects.
